I know there is a controversy as what's best. I have no clue, but guess if it's safe for planes it's safe for my bike. After all I'm often trying to fly 
It dose seam to wash off as pointed out in previous post, I tend to leave it till salt on the roads has gone and then clean the bike and prep it for spring. Mind you I only do 14000 miles a year so not a huge amount compared to despatch riders.
