Had similar situation when I got my FZS1000 2 yrs ago. Have to negotiate a side path & right angle bend as I occupy the middle of 3 terraced houses and bike shed is in my back garden. It isnt just the extra length of the thou but also the width coupled with the available "lock". Persuaded (bribed with beer!) my neighbour to sacrifice the corner of his garden but still had to cover the upright concrete fence posts with bubble-wrap & secure with tie-wraps. Scratched bodywork is a ball-ache-unsightly & costly to put right. Have now reverted to FZS 600 due to increasing age-its lighter & easier but I still miss my lovely "Big Red"!
