I bought a second hand Koso speedo for my build. I was having a look a the wiring that came with it and there are three wires that go from the speedo drive back to the speedo. If you connect that up directly as per the instructions then your speedo will work, but you may get the speedo/TPS issues as you've mentioned. On the loom that a came with mine there was a piggy back wire coming off the brown wire. I am guessing, but I reckon that wire went off to the ECU of whatever vehicle the Koso was previously fitted to. If so then that may be all that's required to avoid any error codes when using an after market speedo. Once I install mine I'll have a better idea, but an option to ponder.
