This is very true, but if the OP doesn't have the mechanical skills then the sort of work he is talking about (rebuilding the front of the engine) isn't a task to start getting your hands dirty with some spanners

Plus, it never hurts to ask - if they say its something they don't want to work on then that's their decision. Likewise, if their timescale / price isn't acceptable then the OP can simply not have the work done by them
