I would have thought you could use many reasons to validly excuse this small lapse of speed such as feeling tailgated and trying to move out of the vehicles way or that a vehicle was doing 65 and you made progress momentarily to overtake.

Pretty sure you'll find that the highway code says you should slow down if being tailgated
