Ok, so Ive got a Mk1.5 FZS600 Fazer, Y Reg, 2001.
The bike rarely starts off the button now. If it's cold or very hot Temperature wise like this week or our winter, it wont start on the button, if it's mild-ish, then its a 50 - 50 chance. I've fitted a 2nd hand switch gear and relay that I bought off Matty some time back when he broke his bike, and they havn't worked. The bike is also fitted with a datatool system 3 alarm. After changing the switch and relay I thought it might be the alarm, but Ive somehow talked myself out of that. Any idea's would be a great help, or even how I can check my relays and stuff.
To get around this problem, and so I dont have to bumpstart it all the time, I've fitted a momentary switch under the seat, but obviously that Isnt ideal.
Thank you in advance
It sounds like you've answered your own question.
If you have a switch under the seat and it works 100% of the time then it's not the alarm or relays, it's mechanical failure of the contact.
At least that's how I read your post. Sorry if I've missed anything obvious.

If you have a multimeter that checks if there is a circuit then you can verify the wiring to the handlebar switch and verify any wiring which your hack replicates. Since you replaced the switch gear getting to the contacts for a circuit should be fine. You can just put a 12v battery and bulb in line if you don't have a multimeter.
Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one. Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.
