I know not ideal to buy extras for a new lid but they do sell different thickness pads to adjust the XR1100 to your head. 35mm is the default thickness and you can go larger and smaller. http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcyc...prod/42930
Your local Shoei dealer should carry them and be able to do a fitting for you.
With mine I also found the brow tight so I thumbed it in a little and fits nice now.
Oh and 1 more thing get the ear pads.. cut down wind noise no end on them lids
