It could easily be that the tensioner is about to advance on and the noise will go itself or it might just be stuck between adjustments. Taking it out and seeing how far advanced it is is not difficult and if you can do it yourself is free. Doing that will reset it and might solve your problem for nothing. If it doesn't the bike is cheap enough that you can put a few quid into it and have a great bike that will look like new.
