ALDI WOES.................advice needed
#11
I'm with spoonlamp and locksmith.  As far as I recall from my dim and distant past, a shoplifting offence is not comitted until you leave the premises.  It might be a bit tricky to get away with this if you had a large coat with loads of poacher pockets tho Smile

They sound like a bunch of nobs.

FWIW as far as I remember from the law of contract it is only when you get to the till that and the purchase is rung through that you are the person actually making the offer to purchase the goods at the price indicated, and it is the store who can, or maynot, accept that offer. Hence if an item is wrongly priced they can refuse to sell it because technically it is you making the offer.

On the other hand, it could just be that you is a suspicious looking guy  Big Grin Big Grin

But I would be steaming mad if I found them going through my bag without my permission, that is tantamount to an illegal search.
It's really just up to you to decide how much grief you want to cause and whether you really would like to continue shopping there. If you do, then I would certainly take it up with local, then regional management. Basically I think they are in the wrong because they conducted the search when you were not present, and even if they found a kilo of cocaine in there, it doesn't prove it was there when you left the bag on the shelf......sorry, but pay peanuts and get monkeys...they are dickheads!

If you want to give God a good laugh, tell him your plans.
