Confused.com! Had a good investigation today but still non the wiser! Everything still points to the relay even though it has been changed...
Latest update:
As the bike kept starting I took the starter motor out of the equation so at least I could hear myself think! The first thing I noticed was the petrol and oil lights were still on. Flicking the kill switch you can hear the relay click. However pressing the starter button doesn't make a noise on the relay. Took the switch to bits but nothing untoward there. In fact when you press it you can see the dash lights dim so it is making a contact. This points back to the relay. I'm sure I can't be unlucky and have 2 knackered relays? I suspect there must a dodgy connection somewhere. Unfortunately it isn't possible to take the relay out of the equation and still have the ignition on. Everything seems to run through the relay.
Anyone got any other ideas? If all else fails it's got a service on the 15th March so they can sort it out!!!
