Fazer 600S, 1998 (T plate)
Had a weird one today! Bike started fine but about a mile into my journey my oil and petrol lights came on despite not being low. I killed the engine and checked the oil and it was fine. On putting the switch to 'run' the bike started! There was also a buzzing noise coming from the right hand side casing, almost as though the starter motor is constantly on.
After work I took the starter switch apart but it's fine. The bike tried to start but the battery is rubbish. The relay by the battery was buzzing like nobody's business though. The oil and petrol lights were both still on. Bump started the bike and limped home (felt as though it wasn't firing properly on all cylinders). The buzzing noise was still coming from the right hand casing. Turned her off at home and back on again and she isn't trying to start herself which is a plus although the battery wouldn't kick over the starter, didn't even make an attempt.
Anyone got any ideas? I'm going to fully charge the battery and then check all connections and spray with WD40. I'm beginning to suspect the ignition switch might be the culprit. The odd thing is that I've never had any trouble with the bike until now and she started fine!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
