The fork legs won't move in the standard upper or lower clamps because they're gripped firmly by the pinch bolt. My reservation over this design is that the lower clamp alone could be subjected to stress caused by any movement occurring between the top of the fork leg and the extender.
It may not be much (if any ... ), it may not be significant but I don't like the thought if the lower clamp having flex stress applied to it.
To my way of thinking, the manufacturers fit upper and lower clamps with pinch bolts for a reason and it's not because they look nice.
Obviously Sweary Dave and Devilsyam hold a different opinion but that's OK ... there's no rule here which says we all have to agree on everything.
