Do you have an aftermarket exhaust or end can, they can make them a bit jumpy at lower revs, mine does it and i've got 'new' down pipes and an SP Engineering Moto GP end can?
It certainly breathes much better when i give it a bit of welly though with the end can.
I've never really bothered about MPG, if the gauge says half full i fill it up, sorted.
