Hi and welcome.
I would highly reccomend fitting shorter than standard dogbones (jack-up kit) as available on ebay for about £15 if you're not overly short of leg. This puts more weight on the front and makes the bike a lot more responsive through corners, dropping the front forks through the yokes by 10mm is also another easy mod that has similar results.
When fitting your new bones I beleive it is best to re-assemble everything with the bike on the centre-stand but to do the final tightening of the linkage bolts on the side stand as this helps eliminate some of the play in the linkage that is common on GEN1 Fazers.
