i thought I'd have a go at Ivan's TPS adjustment today
However I can't get the idle screw adjuster to set the idle above 1800 rpm :'( no matter how much I turn it
It will allow me to return back to normal idle speed but when blipping the throttle after the revs sort of hang around a bit at 4000 and drop back slowly.
Anyone got a clue why I can't get the idle above 1800.
Why you trying to idle it above 1800? I'm only asking because today I was trying to get my pissing TPS sorted so increased my idle from around 1000 to the recommended 1250-1350 (again I found the screw difficult to turn by hand) in the end I couldn't get the TPS to read anything but 10000
So far I have had new plugs, carbs cleaned and balanced as well, I did briefly see the correct 5000 reading but it then shot up to 10000 so I just moved it back to the position it was in and tightened screws, bike seems to run OK so fuck it.
Mmmmm it only suggests that method for re-jetted bikes and not stock setup. Unfortunately I don't what mine is because the fuckwit who owned it before me only rode it 4 times in two years and two of those times it ended up on the deck.
So I doubt he knows which way is up never mind the setup of the bike
Me too, I'm all for kicking the bike in its nuts, I should have bought another hornet, that little pocket rocket never let me down.
im sooo frustrated with mine at the moment maybe I should've got one of them too :'(
Told you I was pissed haha, yeah tried all the usual, ignition on, remove TPS connector and connect it back up, it reads 10000, I then undo bolts swivel it about a bit and it doesn't budge for shit, tightened it back up and left it, swore at it a few times then went in house to drink ale.
Sorry mate can't do anymore than say enjoy the ale or put post in 600 section or search TPS probs
