Wouldn't have thought there's much cost difference between "paint a patch" and "paint the tank" to be honest.

Hard to say WITHOUT FECKING PICTURES -WE LIKE PICTURES WE DO!! :pokefun
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

I've had a local repair done on a fairing, was quite a saving although may have been mostly due to not having to replace all the decals. Try ringing around your local body shops, first asking for a price for a complete respray then a price for the small repair.
Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

Depends on how big the area needing local spray is, also where on the tank it is.

If there is no damage and no Decals to replace then a garage would more than likely just re-spray the whole thing as I doubt they would mix up enough paint just for a small patch plus there is the blending issue.
RIP my beautiful red beast 1999 to 2017 ???
