Crashed Damaged Fazer - What makes a fork do this?
#1
Been checking out a FZS1000 for sale from a bike shop near me today. It's a Cat C write off so a lot to check out.

From what I can see, there really isn't anything drastically wrong with it, however, I would like to know what sort of impact would make the fork do this (hopefully the pic will upload)? Obviously the forks need replacing, as will the yokes, but I would have expected the forks legs to be really mullered in order for it to come out like that.

Is this a weak spot on the original Fazer forks or something?

looks like they have been undone.
no way the tops would 'pop' any other way.
check the internal thread of the fork, bet it's fine.
FYI i have a complete front end lying about (forks, yokes, wheel and mudguard (silver)) which i might part with for money.
used to have an 1100S myself (chipped, laser cans, Y piece, GS torque arm, BCR suspension, Schnitzer rearsets, lennies)

The R1100s is a top bike, but man is it heavy lump of a bike!!

Should be taking delivery of the bike next week, once it's in the garage I will take the front end apart and see what is needed.

At the moment with all that's broken on it I just want to ditch the nasty anodized engine bolts!! Big Grin
