A mate of mine had one of these and didnt ride it for years and sold it to a racer who gladly took it off his hands to use on the track. I recon this is the best bet as they would put on slicks and sort theengine anyway.
EDIT --- or was in zxr 400 my mate had
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.

It would get too repetitive!
My parents have offered to lend me £1200 for a new Skyjet 125, with 3 years warranty, but I worry about reliability. And size, as it's based off the tiny CBR125...

What's insurance on ti going to be? For £1200 you could buy a pretty decent bike straight off!

Fuck off, you lot, you know I can't afford insurance on another Fazer! :'(
My parents found a site selling the Skyjet w/ 3 yrs warranty and 48hr delivery for £1200. And they labour under the assumption that new: instantly reliable.

Oh you mean like the majority of the human race.
Personally I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. especially not in your situation and with 3yrs warranty reliability won't be your concern. Atleast financially.
You bought a 90's kawa, that's what you did :evil . And you are going to get a chinese thing now? That will just add another episode.
Kymco bikes (taiwanese) are still cheaper than japanese but plenty reliable. I used to have a Zing 125 (a chopper bike). Strong and fast as japanese ones.
I know nothing about Chinese bikes but this video was made 2 years ago so some things might of changed. i think Bike magazine bought a Kawasuki or some such bike last tear and ran it for a year. I think if i bought one new i would fully service it myself, not so much the oil but take off and lube as much as possible. Look for reviews on these and other Chinese machines and try to buy the best you can. Good luck mate.
I have a bike you can hire but my daughter says that if you do take up the offer it comes with the condition that you fit stabalisers.
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad
Warranties are completely worthless, not forgetting the vast majority of mechanics will not touch Chinese bikes at all apart from changing tyres!
Do not, under any circumstances buy a Chinese bike, they are still not good enough!
Get a cool xj400, or cb400 (baby muscle bikes!)

Absolutely agree about Chinese bikes. Don't do it! XJ400 or CB400 are just going to be physically way too small though. Racking my brains for a decent alternative, but can't come up with anything. I would agree that a trailie type bike would be best, but what good ones are there at reasonable money? XL250 keeps springing to mind, but few and far between, and daft prices when a good one comes up. I just so understand how frustrating this must be for you.
