Anyone remember these??? I have (had) one on my fazer... but the display is dropping some segments and the sender in place of the neutral switch has seen better days..... pity they are no longer available... was a great product...
Hi,
I have one and mine did the same dropped LED segments.
I found that you need to find the box under the tank the two cables connect into.
Take out the display cable and clean the connector.
The pins starts to corrode and each pin is a segment on the display.
I've fitted a 'modern' Chinese style one. I mainly wanted it to stop me going for 7th gear.
It works really well and the only downside I would say is it doesn't display the gear when stationary.
For 30 quid I can't complain and fitting is straightforward.
Yes it picks up the feed from the Camshaft sensor.
So not moving = no signal.
It's when you come to a stop and not sure if you've gone into first or left it in second.
The neutral light helps but how many of us have bikes that like to skip neutral.
In the end I fitted a GTP .... LCD screen version... its ok.. fitted OK.. looks nice... but it no where near as accurate as the Healtech on the FJR.... THE GTP seems to need about 3k rpm to register the correct gear.... ive tried resetting it several times at low rpm.... but to no avail.... not a major problem... the bike is used for fun now... no commuting..
That sounds about right in terms of the revs to get it to register.
