Poxy oil filter won’t budge
#1
for the life of me I can’t seem to unscrew my oil filter.
What can I do before I resort to a hammer and screwdriver and possibly foc it for good.

I always use a cup wrench and have never had a problem. This has an internal profile that fits the flats on the filter. The front surface has a bolt profile to be turned by a spanner or socket. Cost around the 7 quid mark.

I bought from halfrauds a pair of oil filter pliers, thought these would do the job, but no.
I guess they would be ok if the filter wasn’t so tightly on, lord knows when the filter was replaced.

Just check, there are 2 filter socket sizes with different flats. I've had to get both.
