oxford heated grips controller

can anyone advise if an oxford v8 control box will replace a v5? as there does not seem to be any v5 boxes for sale.

If the v5 is the rotary switch  and the v8 the push button switch I'm told they are interchangeable

V5 is the old 2 button switch. V6 is the slightly less old 3 button switch. Either can be replaced with the V8, you just don't have a separate control box. Rotary switch is from the custom set.

thanks for that they do look similar just didnt want to buy v8 if it wouldnt work

I've got one o those that i just stripped off my bike but how reliable they are i dont know becse obviously you're replacing it for a reason.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

think its probably down to the age of it sometimes works sometimes wont. only about £28 for new v8 so will go for that. thanks to all for your help.

Often it's those dodgy connectors rather than the unit. Having said that, the v8 unit is very good so a well worth swap

Correct! Because I have done just that.

Also dont bother with Oxford and thier stupid prices. The DrBike Unit is a direct replacement at a fraction of the cost and it is a rotary unit! I can provide pics!
