oxford heated grips controller - gnm - 01-03-15 can anyone advise if an oxford v8 control box will replace a v5? as there does not seem to be any v5 boxes for sale. Re: oxford heated grips controller - noggythenog - 01-03-15 Any pics of a V5??? Re: oxford heated grips controller - midden - 01-03-15 If the v5 is the rotary switch and the v8 the push button switch I'm told they are interchangeable Re: oxford heated grips controller - nick crisp - 01-03-15 V5 is the old 2 button switch. V6 is the slightly less old 3 button switch. Either can be replaced with the V8, you just don't have a separate control box. Rotary switch is from the custom set. Re: oxford heated grips controller - gnm - 02-03-15 thanks for that they do look similar just didnt want to buy v8 if it wouldnt work Re: oxford heated grips controller - noggythenog - 02-03-15 I've got one o those that i just stripped off my bike but how reliable they are i dont know becse obviously you're replacing it for a reason. Re: oxford heated grips controller - gnm - 02-03-15 think its probably down to the age of it sometimes works sometimes wont. only about £28 for new v8 so will go for that. thanks to all for your help. Re: oxford heated grips controller - mtread - 03-03-15 Often it's those dodgy connectors rather than the unit. Having said that, the v8 unit is very good so a well worth swap Re: oxford heated grips controller - b1k3rdude - 04-03-15 (01-03-15, 10:01 PM)midden link Wrote: If the v5 is the rotary switch and the v8 the push button switch I'm told they are interchangeableCorrect! Because I have done just that. Also dont bother with Oxford and thier stupid prices. The DrBike Unit is a direct replacement at a fraction of the cost and it is a rotary unit! I can provide pics! |
