At a quick glance how can you tell if you have ivanised carbs?

Pop the carb top off and pull the slide out and check needle.

I believe the springs are cut down which is another way to identify it.

Both correct, although clipping springs isn't specific to Ivan's kits.

Stock needles are single taper and are stamped SD-129 or SD-130 around the top.

Thanks, Mike you did mine years ago a banbury just was hoping for a quick check, got another fazer and it has an ivans sticker but gues i gotta have a look in to see if it been done, you dont keep reg numbers of the ones you've done do you?

Sadly, no on the reg numbers.  Never thought I would do that many when I started ...
