Stainless downpipes
#1
Hi all, my pipes are knackered but before I get more wanted to check if anyone can recommend one make over another. I remember horror stories back in the day of some not fitting. Anyone use these:

Mine came from Sandy Bike Spares and have been very good, fitted straight on and survived a fire Wink

Most people usually recommend the Motad ones though which have the balance pipes

I recently got a set from m&p's.made by delkevic, fitted perfectly. They come with a spring puller, link pipe gasket, header gaskets and a wee tube of copper ease type stuff. However the header gaskets are to small, so you'll need to order some separately from wemoto or somewhere similar.

All in all I think they're pretty good for the money.

Mine came from Sandy Bike Spares too and also fitted straight on. I think it's run by a Hornet's Nest bloke called Deefer or something like that.

There does seem to be an issue with the quality/thickness of the stainless steel header clamps on Sandy Bike Spares downpipes. Two of them on mine fractured and a few others have reported the same problem.
That, and the lack of balance pipes, means I won't be buying downpipes from them again.

I would also like to add that the delkevic headers do have balance pipes

+1 for SandySpare downpipes.

Had mine on about a year. Fitted straight on. No problems with the header clamps on mine.

Just bought a set from Motad for £150 + postage
Haven't got around to fitting them yet but they look pretty nice in the shed.
I've also made new exhaust studs from a length of stainless M6 rod from Toolstation (£2) and bought stainless long nuts from Ebay.
