side stand spring help
#1
could someone have a quick look at there sidestand for me and tell me how many springs there should be
i have one spring and a rubber cover but i am sure there should be two springs with the rubber between them
the reason i ask is because my sidestand wont stay down or all the way up so something is definatly wrong

Yep it should have two springs one inside the other exactly as you describe you can see in in my picture of me centre stand refurb which has the same spring set up, if I had known they were that cheep I would not of bothered de rusting and painting the old ones

was suprised but with the postage on top i think i will wait till i need some other bits and get it all at once - only ground out once today and its prob been missing for a while

by any chance did you use the tub of vinegar trick for derusting, did an entire fuel tank that way once and wanted chips for a week

No I used a wire brush on a drill for bits on the bike and a bench grinder with a wire brush for all removable bits, here is the whole post  http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,20049...#msg231622
