does anyone on here have any experience with these? Just got one for my FZ1, connected up to laptop to check what map was in it but won’t communicate as it needs external power. so I took sellers word that the map is off a FZ1 and an Akro can, can’t do any harm . Wired it up to the bike and fitted the o2 eliminator plug, bike won’t start. Just cranks, pc leds flash then go off. Tried to connect to the laptop with it on the bike, won’t communicate.
Have connected 9v battery to pc3 and tried to communicate with laptop, no deal.
Am at al loss really as it’s plug n play and the seller assures me it was fully working.
Seller is from Stoke way so fairly local, I’ve asked him if he can help.
In the meantime can anyone else help?
Definately something wrong. Mine worked straight away with no issues. Sorry I cant be of any help but I would try for a return and refund ?
Guy I got it off is decent and will accept it back, just don’t work
Have you connected the earth wire and got a good earth?
Check the the connector between the bikes loom and the power commander, mine were quite hard to get fully seated together correctly.
Also I have heard that the 9V battery needs to be new for it to give the necessary voltage.
From a computer perspective you will need to make sure that you have the correct software installed on your laptop in order for it to communicate properly. There are a few different versions of the software depending on the version of the power commander that you have. So I would go back to the PC website and make sure that you have the correct software and download the correct instruction manual and follow the instructions.
I used the latest software, from the site as the pc didn’t come with a disc. Used a ubs lead - they are all the same aren’t they? What I can’t find out is what the firmware is in the pc, cos I can’t talk to it! I said to the seller, even if it worked on the bike, I’d need to change the map if I wanted a custom one or if it was sold on and used on an R1 or something, so it’s no good to me.
Having searched the net a bit it seems to be a very common problem and is down to a firmware error on the pc3. Its possible to fix a home if your savvy with a computer.
It involves wiping then re flashing the pc3 with the latest firmware.
There are guides online but just depends if you want to give it a go
All sunshine and rainbows for you this week then ?
