Over fueling "pop pop pop"
#21
Bit of an update. Decided that the carbs did need to come off as:coolant hoses all needed replacing, bike sat for 3 years before I had it and several little idle/running issues including running rich. (Pipe is black and sooty)

Carbs are off. Cleaning one at a time. Have an ultrasonic cleaner so going in there. Pilot jet on n01 carb blocked. Pretty clean other than that. No.2 float bowl full of crap. Looking forward to no3 as when I emptied the float bowls only a dribble came out of That!!

Interesting, there is a jet in each carb not mentioned in the haynes manual. After spending an age trying to unblock the jet with carb cleaner (and looking on here) I discovered that it's a blank?!! Bizarre!!

Anyway. Few pics

No mate, it has got a hole in it. It must be blocked. Just persevere with it! ???

Well that's what I thought lol but reading the following thread: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=23023.0 would suggest not...

Not sure what it's for if it's Not? Identified the main jet, needle jet and the pilot jet...whats this one then? Lol my head hurts.

ok so a quick look around turns out the blanked one would be a startup/enrichening jet
originally found this out looking at pics of a mikuni bsr36 (we have bsr33 so close enough)
that says choke to me so i got more intrested because its blanked off
found this http://www.xj4ever.com/inside%20your%20carbs.pdf
and i can say i have no bloody idea further than its blanked off now so it can stay blanked off

It is a blank, dont do anything to it. These are mikuni carbs and the bodies are used on other bikes not just the fazer, the jet is not required on the fazer and left blank.
