blocked air filter.
16-05-12, 01:59 PM
airfilter is fine the carbs do have cracks in quite bad ones
16-05-12, 04:58 PM
600 are bit lean on runing
16-05-12, 05:43 PM
cracked carb rubbers will make it run lean, not rich
16-05-12, 06:20 PM
cracked inlet rubbers are a common fault on 600 fazers, they are very thick and its a fair bet that there not cracked all the way through.and as MCYOUNGY has already said will make the bike run lean not rich
One, is never going to be enough.....

worn emulsion tubes would cause rich running. float level too high.
how do you know it's running rich?
16-05-12, 08:47 PM
the spark plugs are sooty so changed them
16-05-12, 10:07 PM
Choke stuck or partly stuck on?
16-05-12, 10:27 PM
choke works as it should
17-05-12, 02:17 PM
Take the choke plungers out and get a magnifing glass and look at the rubber seal faces for wear or cracks. just because they move don't mean they "ain't" damaged !!!!

Other advice would be. Strip them down clean and rebuild paying close attention to worn moving parts. such as jet needles, sliders and diaphrams. There are a surprising amount of moving parts in there. and always use a magnifying glass. The damage may be hard to see with the naked eye. My son had a small split in one of his slider diaphram and neither of us saw it until i magnified it. caused all sorts of problems. hope this helps.

ok and how on earth would i do that will it help my bike to start better
17-05-12, 03:12 PM
what starting problem do you have? hot or cold? what mileage is on the bike? when were the valve clearances checked?
17-05-12, 04:29 PM
no idea when the valve clearences were last cheked i have noticed when u turn the ket in the igntion u have to wait for the ist click noise to click then the bike starts is thgat normal ie is that click sound the petrol pump cheers

Get a haynes manual for a start. If the needles on the sliders are worn they will let more petrol through and that may cause the rich mixture.
