#1
although i am a horse of a man i am a bit thick  :b . can anybody give me any ideas on the correct wording to ask a bank/building society if i have had ppi from them in the past. i can't manage to get it looking right and all the templates i can find on tinternet are not what i want. i really just want to say "hey you,did you sell me ppi in the past cos i can't remember and i would like it back please. but better than that. ta very much

If you don't know for certain they will probably say, "due to the current influx of enquiries you have been placed in a queue". You will then be informed of the yes/no verdict after the time limit for claims has past.

Aren't the banks supposed to write to you if you were sold ppi?

Why don't you just make a data protection act request for any data they may hold on you? That will get you a shed load of paper (although you can ask for it in digital form) and you can look through any loan agreements etc etc and see whether you were sold ppi.
