WD40 and a sharpened plastic scraper always works for me

Acetone.....AKA.....Nail varnish remover.

Only thing works is sticky stuff remover or a blowtorch

I started at the top of the list of suggestions with WD40 and the edge of my credit card. It worked a treat. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

What about glue for refixing used weights.

Double sided tape does the trick to restick used weights if you have no new ones. You will likely need to reshape them though as they bend a bit when getting them off.
