Any easy way to remove carburetors?

I am helping my brother to remove the carburetors for cleaning and new o-rings.


Is there any easy way to remove the carbs?

Not really. Air box/filter needs to move backwards, which means tank and side covers off and a bit of a pig re/connecting the throttle cables and getting to all the screws on all the clamps.
just take your time with it.

And dont forget to plug the inlet tracts with cloth when carbs off to avoid dropping stray parts into motor :eek I speak from experience!

Dont know about the broom technique but when I refitted mine into new carb inlet rubbers I smeared a little red rubber grease around inside of new rubbers, moved the air box fully back and then inserted a thin piece of soft wood behind bank of carbs to apply even leverage to all 4-they popped in and also held them in place while i did up the clamp screws. Remove said piece of wood and move airbox fwd & refit screws & clamp rings. Dont forget to reconnect throttle cables & choke before sliding carb assy in. Dont forget to check small bore hoses for carb heater circuit & condition of fuel hoses- its a pain of a job if you are working on your own but not impossible.Finally balance carbs -job done,sorted!

Fork.[size=78%] I enjoyed a chicken and mushroom pot noodle when I was rebuilding my steed. [/size]

Same as that, if you service your bike with the tank off and decide to remove brackets or bits from under the tank for easier access to get the plugs back in, a bit of rolled up paper kitchen towel in each spark plug well might save lots of tears :'(
