Speedo Sensor
#1
So, my bike is back together again and it seems fine on first test. However, the speedo wasn't working - took wheel off again and two snapped lugs (apparently a common thing).

Anyone know where to get part 15 on this link?

You mean cheaper than the £19.61 you can get it for by clicking "Add to Basket"?  Couldn't find anything cheaper using the part number 5RB2517G0000

Yeah, that's what I meant Tongue

Will give it a couple days and see if anyone has suggestions before ordering from there. Can live with no speedo for a day or two.

eBay might have a few options, or a breakers

Wemoto has it at £16.06 (plus postage?)

Just buy that one- it's the updated one where the top end with the lugs is plastic, much more resilient than the entirely ceramic one and cheaper too!
Some say...

Thanks, ordered from We Moto - was about 50p cheaper.

We have a motorcycle salvage yard about 1 mile away - tried phoning them but would only sell the unit as a whole, and wanted £30 for it.

Ok, part arrived - how easy are these to fit as not sure it's covered in workshop manual? Does the old simply pull out?

It's a nice simple job, if not just a little fiddly making sure that it stays in position whilst you try to get the axle bolt back on when refitting the wheel Smile Shouldn't take long though, just make doubly sure that the lugs are sat properly Smile

The resistance you feel when pulling out the old one is just the force of the magnets- it's not physically connected to anything!

I've just bought the plastic one in advance. Because my front wheel is coming off for a tyre change, and the ceramic lugs have been superglued back on twice already....
