As for comfort then fair enough, but I spose I am lucky that the bike seems to be built for me-- even the shocks are perfect.
Dont bother with a double bubble as it dont make any difference.
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
Bars are something I won't be doing in the short term future, don't want to go mad just yet just tidy it up a touch

Instead of the normal fairing screen, a double bubble has a raised curved part in the middle of it, a bit like a dolphins head.

I see. I guess the name is just because it makes a bigger bubble over the rider? I'm assuming mine is standard lol
People change them (like me) to try and reduce the wind blast but I dont think anyone on this forum has found that it inproves anything

My bike came with one, but it was all scratched so i put a normal one on instead as i prefer the look of it.

That's precisely my way of thinking. As it stands now I know the bike can already out-perform my limits, so I'm not too bothered about engine/suspension/handling mods, and cosmetic ones are pretty pointless IMO as bikes are there for riding.
My plan is to spend a couple years gaining experience, then buy a faster bike. Most likely a 1000.

Apologies for the ignorance on here, I had a chain snap issue and due to winter didn't really look twice at it.
Now i'm looking to get the bike repaired ready for April time, so i'm back.
Looking into a rear hugger, as the chain guard is totally smashed anyway now!
Really want the idea of a tail tidy, but upon looking, i'll need to cut the rear fairing / undertray bit virtually in half - Not so keen on this.
Also looking to change the indicators all round, probably not LED as these seem more hassle than they're worth, but probably just smaller arrowed ones, maybe just smaller squared ones, un decided on this yet.
Obviously aswell as that it'll have a new clutch rod and necessary gubbins, Chain, Sprockets and an oil and filter change due to the chain damage and so on...
Also, is a K&N Worth it, what will it do to the bike, in terms of noise / power or anything like that?

I'm new to biking too, I've just had the carb rubber inlets replaced cos the original ones were badly cracked/perished, whilst the tank etc was off, the carb settings got set properly & balanced, along with fitting a K&N air filter. The old girl (99 600) is running a hell of a lot better. Also, fit CR8E iridium plugs & 5k plug caps, either SD or XD, I've got XDs & the leads are a little close to the engine, so I may change them to SDs in the future, but I've got other stuff to sort out before that.
K&N filter is good, a bit more induction noise but not much. Performance wise it'll do nothing but it's not going to hurt plus you never have to buy another filter...

Just done the oil and filter, perhaps when summer begins ill do the plugs and filter then
Bump the old thread, still not done much but have some renthal 755s to fit, and a delkovic can when I can find a link pipe that fits it.
Did drop the bike earlier and snap my brake lever though  luckily no fairing damage, just a scuff on the engine cover that isn't deep... Another job to do now!
Isn't the opinion to wind the pre-load right in on post 2000 forks?
Mini indicators, better than those hulking great orange things? I got 2 sets of these indicator with 2 sets of these blanking plates, £34 inc del.

I need to set the suspension up but don't know how or what settings
I want new indicators but want them still plenty bright...
Need an under tray too as mines broken. Got my eye on one at the moment so will see what happens there and I already have 4 indicator plates but it seems 4 plates is one pair of indicator?
Yeah, you need an inside and outside plate to go over the blank hole, the nut on the indicator then holds these together, 2 per indicator = 8 total.

I just replaced the indicator lenses with clear ones and with orange bulbs, a lot easier than changing the indicators themselves and looks much better than the orange blobs. Also means they're still a decent size so people actually see you indicating too
