Pattern Parts?

Just received fuel cap (pattern) from China for the grand sum of £12 freepost for MK1.Looked great until i tried to fit it ,Nice finish,hole spaces correct,arguably as good as oem,but sits high, ie not flush.Had a look at the seal and the aftermarket was thicker,so changed the inners and now it sits even higher,around 3mm.Will look at it again at some stage.Anyone had similar problems.Anyone tried the R1 ring and quick release fuel cap for fit? (3 holes).

Yep ! Fair point ! too busy at the minute take pics, also bike is presently at mates house as he has a workshop type thingy that a pro would be proud of.Will upload when i find a little bit of spare time.
