clutch/mirror bracket - kylron - 29-09-13 Does anyone know if there's a clutch bracket with a mirror mount that will fit on the gen 1 to allow me to fit mirrors on the handlebars. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - slappy - 29-09-13 I`m sure there was a guy on here that had fitted some of a Kawasaki GT750, anyone else remember? PS. Why am I stuck at work for a 12 hour shift when the sun is shining? The weather gods hate me! Re: clutch/mirror bracket - slappy - 29-09-13 Sorry not a GT750 but a GT550.http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,2360.msg18426.html#msg18426. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - slappy - 29-09-13 Scroll down a bit on the link and there are some pictures. I am going to have to get better at posting, I should have done all this in one post! Re: clutch/mirror bracket - kylron - 29-09-13 Thanks for the replies,i was looking at the mounts on the ebay but it looks like its a tight fit between the bars and the clutch bracket, how close did you manage to get yours to the clutch. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - sirgalahad3 - 29-09-13 I have my mirrors attached to the clutch/brake mount. Its been a few years now but am sure I have a 600 fazer mk1 clutch mount on mine? Re: clutch/mirror bracket - blackcabbie - 29-09-13 fz8 is the mount you want.... it is identical to the fzs 1000 clutch mount in every way except you can screw a mirror into it as well. you can transplant the micro switch and metal detent thingy onto the fz8 one.... handlebar mirrors are the best mod i have done to my fazer imho Re: clutch/mirror bracket - kylron - 30-09-13 Will have a look online for an fz8 bracket its probably the neatest solution. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - Kosmic Kartman - 30-09-13 This is what I did. There's just enough room to fit, even on the standard OE bars. ![]() Re: clutch/mirror bracket - Pat - 30-09-13 I fitted one from a naked gen2 1000, it's identical other than the mirror mount, so a straight swap. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - JoeRock - 01-10-13 What are the advantages to puttig your mirrors on the bars instead of on the fairing? Re: clutch/mirror bracket - blackcabbie - 01-10-13 its a personal thing.... you either prefer it or you dont :lol Re: clutch/mirror bracket - Exupnut - 01-10-13 (30-09-13, 11:38 PM)Kosmic Kartman link Wrote: This is what I did. There's just enough room to fit, even on the standard OE bars. A great lookin bike fucked up by two Neanderthal gt550 crap lookin mirrors. I gotta say thats the main reason "I WONT BE RIDIN YOUR BIKE" :-) Re: clutch/mirror bracket - t140 - 01-10-13 machined a new pivot bolt for the clutch and got a set of fz6 ,i think, mirrors as they have the correct left and right hand threads, but im sure that the street triple ones also fit Re: clutch/mirror bracket - kylron - 01-10-13 Got a Price of £20.00 for an fz8 mount, tried barend mirrors and didn't like them.I have a streetfighter short screen and the original mirrors look odd with it. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - blackcabbie - 01-10-13 Think that's what I paid. Think I got mine from granbys Re: clutch/mirror bracket - kylron - 01-10-13 It was granny's I contacted, very helpful double checked it was the correct part I was after, should have it in the next few days. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - kylron - 01-10-13 Should have read granby's not granny's bloody touchscreens. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - noggythenog - 02-10-13 Been watching this thread with interest as i stupidly went down the cheap mirrors route & they are absolutely crap. Just bit the bullet & got some genuine Yamaha XT660 mirrors for £40. I may need a bracket though also as my original Female end on the brake lever is a bit mushed up. Re: clutch/mirror bracket - stupidamerican - 04-10-13 The mount from the FZ8 works beautifully. The OEM part number from the states is - 1B3-82911-00-00 ![]() |
