  TPS Adjustment
Posted by: Zundap - 30-11-22, 07:38 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

So reading on Pats site about how to set TPS position it goes on to say at the end of a method recommended by Ivan.
This involves moving the TPS in relation to rpm. This is supposed to give a good position to reduce vibes.
Ivans/Pats write up goes on to say by using this setup method on putting the TPS into test mode it can show 10k rpm and not 5k rpm, which is the recommended position.

Can someone explain to me what the significance is of the 5k and 10k settings are and why it dosent seem to matter, infact the write up suggests its better at 10k?

Cheers

my solution to a old problem
Posted by: butthead - 27-11-22, 04:59 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

after loosing two sprocket nuts , the original oem and recently the thicker nut , my brother who is a good engineer/ mechanic came up with this.  it IS possible to drill into the end of the output shaft and tap a thread , in our case an  8 mm allen head bolt to hold a washer to prevent further loss of sprocket nuts , along with obligatory thread lock .  have to say it wasnt easy drilling into the case hardened shaft deep enough to take a thread , lots of patience not to go too deep in one go it is resistant to drilling and tapping but with careful application and patience it can be done . took most of the day to accomplish and its possible for the nut still to work loose but now it sits tight against the washer now , so cannot come off again.

Hi all, after a ten year hiatus I went and bought this baby, not been able to ride it much due to illness though.
It's done under 10k,and apart from a few minor blemishes it's immaculate. It came with a nitron shock and Maxton fork internals ?. Think it needs a decent slip on though.

LOFOs. Dec 4th Whitstable Toy Run to Margate.
Posted by: robbo - 18-11-22, 09:56 AM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - No Replies

Just a headsup  regarding this annual event. The meeting place as usual, is the Tankerton Rd Carpark CT5 2AS. Leaves at 1pm. Normally a burger van for early arrivals. The run is to the QEQM Hospital in Margate. I find it easier to make a donation on the day rather than bring a toy, the choice is yours. If anyone wants to go I can make a bit of a ride out of it via a decent caff, starting at Wrotham Hill near both M25 and M26. As always weather dependent.
