Unfortunately I've got a leaking seal so it's time to do some maintenance the bank holiday weekend. To loosen the bottom bolt (M8)on the bottom of fork leg, requires holding the inside damper rod- the usual method is to use a broom handle.
Manual refers to Yam tools (90890) but no idea of what it looks like. From memory I think it's a hex. If I knew the size and shape I could weld something onto a long rod and reach down there.
Has anyone made similar or have any ideas with size and shape help?

| Bluetooth Headsets? |

I see that this topic hasn't come up for a while.
I was considering getting a sub-£100 Bluetooth headset for my helmet. Prompted recently by an upcoming tour with a mate.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Am I right in my understanding that the intercom function does not work universally between different branded headsets? So to speak/connect to my mate I'll need to have an intercom of the same make?
Thanks,
Brett

| Error code 46 - check engine light comes on |

I have a 2007 FZ6 S2, weirdly my bike seems to be running fine, but while riding around town (30mph, around 4k rpm and a lot of stop and go) after about 20-25min my check engine light comes on.
I checked the error codes by going into diagnostics mode and error 46 comes up. The service manual says "Symptom: Power supply to the FI system is not normal. Probable cause of malfunction: Malfunction in CHARGING SYSTEM."
I checked the battery and it seems to be fine, with the engine turned off it shows around 13.5v, when I start the engine it drops to around 12v and then it comes back up and when accelerating it goes up to around 14.5v
I checked the stator coil resistance and it's withing the specified range 0,23 - 0.32 Ohm
I replaced the fuse for the FI system and also cleaned all of the other fuses.
I don't know what else I could check, anyone else encountered something like this? I googled this error but all the info I found doesn't really apply to me since my bike seems to be running fine.

Hello all I'm new to the forum. I have my mod 2 test coming up soon and am thinking of a fazer 600. I've seen one I like locally. It's the 1998 600 in red I'm just wondering what kind of price I should be looking at. It says it's only 1700 miles and been sat for 16 years new battery and starts and runs fine. Will it need coolant oil tyres fork seals or anything else changing ? As I say fairly new to biking and fazers. So all advice welcomeThanks.

Just a heads up for anyone that uses The Ranch caff at Wingham, it's now closed down as of last Wednesday. Apparently the landowner is going to develop the site for housing. Back in the day this was Wingham railway station........another one bites the dust.
