  front brakes
Posted by: ghostbiker - 15-10-11, 12:46 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (18)

Well since i was 12 or 13 i have had bikes and in all this time i have NEVER changed brake pads lol.
i have done shoes on older bikers i have striped 2 strokes down to nuts and bolts, replaced brake lines, done a fair amount of work on many bikes and on the whole love to work on the fazer.
So affter going out today to give the bike a once over before next weeks track time i found 1 of the front pads has disintergrated. im 90% sure it happened yesterday as the brakes felt a little off on my ride.

So its about time i finaly faced up to my fear and do what most would think as simple.... change me pads Tongue
Sadly dont have time to order a set in (£20 for a full front koyo set from busters) so had to get from my local spanner. WOW i forgot how expensive he can sometimes be. £40 for a set of Koyo but i need them for early next week and am off to kent on tuesday so had to get them.

Kinda pissed the pad has gone like this, all the other 3 pads are less than half used and a fair war from the wear marker so i assume the one that fell apart was to.

Got me Haynes manual out and will attempt it later, will be a simple pads out pads in i hope as anything more than that and im gunna strugle. so as i sit and relax before getting ready for lots of swearing i thought i would post here..... for no real reason Tongue

Looking for a clutch kit (friction, steel plates)
Posted by: mars696 - 15-10-11, 06:30 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - No Replies

Greetings from Greece Focers!!! Smile
I am willing to buy a clutch kit for my bike(fzs 600,2001 model).
I am looking for a full kit (friction, steel plates and springs) not certainly all together as a kit,but at least from the same shop.

First of all, what brand to prefer(better, most common)? EBC or FERODO??? i am more interested to ferodo...dont know why.. :rolleyes
Plus, i find difficult to find steel plates no matter what brand is... :'(
I am always talking for an internet buy.
Can you suggest me some e-shops or other links??
I will appreciate your help!
Always good to be back forum!!!
Thanks guys!

  RADIATOR HOSES

Can anyone point me in the direction of aftermarket radiator hoses for the Fazer FZS1000 - I recall seeing some blue coloured sets a while back but I'm buggered if I can find them now!

On the way home from work, minding my own etc. Filter of the m-way down the slip road and half way down out of nowhere I get a cnut up behind. At the roundabout junction we both pull away from the lights but I have position as we go round, again right up behind me. So at this point not only am I trying to navigate the useal idiots in cars by have to cater for fuckwit aswell...

I then take my turning and open it up, as I get to the bottom where the turning/sliproad meets the dual carrageway, again I have position. So what does matey do, 80mph+ up in the inside of a car to get in front of me and then carry's on accelerating at speed up the dual carragway weaving between cars etc. I easily & safely catch up and eventually pull up at the lights.

I get some crap about being in his way.... he's been riding since he was 15.... he will punch my light out... blah blah. My reply back, 'it dosent take a genious to see you were riding like a cnut', more verbal from him... but just ignored him at that point. So we pull away again, I get position again, again he is up my arse, but this time there is no where for him to go, further up the road after it widens up he is trying to act cool and goad me at which point I ignore and go on my way.

His bike, looked like a 2011 Z1000, but the twat was wearing a motorcross helmet with no eye protection... says it all.

I've just been browsing ebay looking at stainless exhausts and come across motad and sandy bike spares downpipes, does anyone have experience as to which are better quality?
Also like the look of the delkevic 350mm stubby tailpipe, how well do they fit and what quality?
I don't suppose the chemical metal I've just blobbed in the collector will stay there long so I guess I will have to spend some cash, must admit I prefer the idea of it staying in the uk than going to china or similar.
All opinions/experience appreciated.
I was also after a gear position indicator but have had no response from ledgear, have they gone bust? I've since bought a second hand neutral switch and added extra contacts for the gears but still waiting on the display bit turning up to try it out.
