Any free tools for checking and fixing slow PC's?

Used a "free" tools on the Dell site that scans your pc, tells you you've got 5000 problems and then wants £25 to fix it Smile

So adeejaysdelight is doing a Tough Mudder in July, madmondeoman is doing a Triathlon in May and I'm doing 10k runs in June, July and August and the GNR in September.

How is everyone's training getting on and are there any other foccers in training for an athletic event this year?

Me I'm up to 3.3km so a third of the way there. I'm following the Couch to 5k plan for the beginning part and am on week 5. Over to you Smile

I only wanted to paint my cam cover.. .
Posted by: GrahamB - 21-02-12, 02:30 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (10)

. ..so decided to remove/ditch the AIS pump too, which led to the removal of coils so decided to change plugs whilst there. Then decided my tap & die set was a bit nasty so bought much better quality one to tap a thread in the remaining exhaust stubs. WHAT  A COMPLETE & UTTER PAIN IN THE ASS THAT JOB WAS!!! Did 2 & 3 okay but even they were awkward. Don't have a spanner small enough to fit the square end on my M8 tap so decided to use mole grips for 1 & 4.  :eek This meant I needed as much room to work as possible so decided to remove front wheel & forks. Using mole grips on a tap is not my idea of fun but it wasn't as bad as you might think. It probably took 3X longer to tap 1 & 4 as it did for 2 & 3.  Now I'm looking at getting both wheels powder coated as one is already out & have also removed front engine mount assembly for rubbing down & painting. Whilst the forks are out I might have a look at doing the cheapo spring cut, longer spacer mod too.. .  & the frame itself is looking a bit ropey. Dare I risk a full strip down & powder coat before Mike comes in April.. .  probably not.  :rolleyes

Oh yeah, cam cover turned out nice (baked on very low heat in my kitchen oven for about half an hour) but is putting the rest of the engine to shame now!

I love my Fazer thou'.  Big Grin

For sale - Aprilia Pegaso 650 Strada Factory
Posted by: Stunts - 21-02-12, 02:15 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi all,

With the arrival of our new daughter I need to liquidize assets and the simplest one to liquidize first is my bike. Come June I won't be able to use it anyway as I'll be dropping our son off at school every day, so the bike won't be used  Sad

Anyhoo - it's an Aprilia Pegaso Strada Factory (as you may have guessed) and I have owned it for around 5 months. In that time I haven't ridden her much and she's been tucked away in my garage, keeping snug for spring.

She is an '09 model with 9.5k miles on the clock. The bike is minty mcmint as you would expect and I have looked after her for the time I have had her.

She will have standard cans upon sale (akrapovic cans are available separately to bike negotiations) but I'll leave the Scotoiler fitted. The intercom will also be coming off.

She's a lovely bike to look at and ride - very good for those wanting this kind of bike but maybe coming up short in the leg department. Light and manoeuvrable and good on fuel.

Anyway - pictures paint a thousand words:

The bike is in Leighton Buzzard. I'm after OIRO £2900 please. It's a sad sale, but the upside is that in a couple of years I'll get a newer, bigger bike as recompense Smile

  Speedo has stopped working
Posted by: andy f - 21-02-12, 11:43 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hey all, after a bit of help  Smile

My speedo has stopped working and after reading a bit in the haynes manual not quite sure if it's the speedo or some other electrical part.

The Trip ( that you can reset ) has for months, only worked when riding, as soon as you turn the engine off it resets to zero. not a big problem.
Then last week the speedo and mileage stopped working.  I had planned to look at it at the weekend but a couple of days later I was coming home from work and missed a gear when accelerating hard, whacked the throttle open and the rev counter jumped up to 11 or 12 K then after that all the way home the rev counter was jumping from 0 to 3k to 7k ( which I beleive is something doing a self test ).

So the question is....do you think the speedo is at fault or something else. I personally am thinking something else because of the way the rev counter jumped.....But I don't know what.

I have to admit, last year there were a few occasions when the Speedo would just jump around all over the shop for a few minutes and then settle down again.

Have done a search on here but couldn't find the answer. Sensor...speedo....bit in the front wheel ...?

Thanks
Andy
