Does anybody have a definitive answer as to whether a rear brake caliper off a 2001 R1 is the same as the rear brake caliper off a FZS1000. I looked on a parts site and the R1 part number is 5JJ 2580W 00 00, and the FZS1000 part number is 5LV 2580 00. I am wondering if the first number/letter configuration just relates to the actual bike and the longer number is the actual part reference.
pukka winter bike. I got it for the missus but she wants an electric pushbike now.

its an 03, Blue, liquid cooled fuel injected four stroke (does 80 with my sixteen stone on it) but the real beauty is it has only done 9500 miles an runs perfect. ten months mot, new battery, newish tyres, givi plate and top box, concealed immobiliser switch , in the forest of dean. its a fes pantheon, the predecessor to the silver wing. only had summat like four owners, but like I said ill put the details up proper tomorrow. been kept outside most of its life so looks grotty underneath but mechanically very sound. if I was still commuting to Bristol id honestly keep it for myself saving useing the thou, but I aint, and ive already got the three bikes.
theres another one just like it on ebay done over 40k and he wants 1100 lol. its on the bay for 650, but anybody here wants it ill knock a ton off
For a long time now i have fitted a 2008 r1 front end on my 2004 fazer 1000, i have always kept the original master cylinder, but i find it feels quite wooden and not very powerful, so wanted to fit radial master cylinder to match the 6 pot calipers. Does anyone know of a straight fit radial master cylinder that works well? Cheers.
Hi FOCERS it’s been years since I have logged on! I sold my thou on here ages ago but now got the itch back. Looking for a cheap 600 Foxeye if anyone has one or even a gen1 if an absolute bargain
Managed to get my hands on a fzs1000 rear Caliper for £40!!! Delighted with that outcome. it Has arrived today doesn’t look in too bad of shape but I want to strip them down and change all the seals. My question is how do I remove the pistons on these do I need to buy a blue spot tool also is that the same for the front as I will work on them too? Just refurbed my rear 600 Caliper if anyone is interested just needs new seals and bleed nipples.
hi im looking at a new set of tyres, currently looking at Conti road attack 2 & Michelin road 4, quite a big difference in price. What are your thoughts & any recommendations please.
