EASY TIGER
if it gets really cold this year then I may fit the oxford muffs that have sat in the garage for a while, sure I read on the old site about the best way of fitting them.....extending bar weights or something with a washer fitted to stop the wind forcing the muff onto the brake lever?
anyone shed any light or can anyone post instructions/pics on how to do it?
cheers
Blimey, been on here 10 years now. Met some great people, made some very good friends, had lots of laughs, and come across a few arseholes too!! Roll on the next 10 years. :woot
Hd my fazer 2002 for a few months now and trying to get comfortable on it- as have aknackered back.
I've fitted 30mm bar risers, however havnt had enough effect. trying to bring the bars closer towards me and keeping the height. The idea to keep any weight off wrists and my bck as straight as possible.
Can o recommend any other solutions ie swopping he hndlebars? hs anyone else tried to achieve the same withsuccess.?
I've only had my FZS1000 for 6 months, but already it seems like an old friend. Of all the bikes I've owned, this is the one that keeps growing on me. Normally, I see something which I think suits me better or that will be faster or better at touring or whatever! I usually think of a dozen reasons to change, but the Fazer Thou does just about everything I want!
In the past, I've had commuters, tourers, roadsters, sports-tourers and supersports. 250cc through to 1700cc, singles, twins, triples, 4IL and V4's, chains and shafts, Superdreams to Fireblades. The only thing I've not had is a cruiser :lol . Only the Fazer has the right balance. I say balance, because every bike out there is a compromise in one way or another.
My only regret is failing to buy a brand new one while they were still in production .
I got these with the intention of fitting them to my Fazer 1000
Im not going to bother.

I'm thinking of fitting some yellow lens shields. Does anybody have any recommendations of a good make of shield? I'm after yellow to make me stand out whilst filtering on the motorway.
Sorry about the lack of introduction guys, been a lurker for a good while :o
Just been reading Bloy182's post, and I'm currently making a the same decision as him with moving to the Fazer thou from a newer bike, and I'm completely tied :look .
Been an FZS600 owner for 10 years on and off owning 3 gen 1's loving every mile on them doing nearly 100k miles between them. I built a 4XV R1 streetfighter and ran it as my commuter/toy for 7 years and just parted with it 2 months ago. It broke my heart!
I bought a Triumph Tiger 1050 in my attempt to grow up a bit (40year old :rolleyes ) and also to keep my licence :eek I was also 'edging' a 190 tyre road riding on a regular basis which got a bit silly to be honest.
I've tuned the Tiger to about 125bhp/75lb+ torque, and it flies! But there's just something missing that I can't put my finger on it. It's comfy beyond my expectations, LOADS of torque, and now lots of power. Handlings a bit suspect, but that's a trait of the bike! :eek I craved for a Fazer thou when I first saw them, and built the R1 as a 'substitute'. Kind of regretting my purchase of the Tiger really, wanting the EXUP thrill once again.
Never ridden a Fazer thou (gen 1), but I'm going to have a go on one tomorrow with a bit of luck. Rode an FZ1 a couple of years ago, and it was no better than my Streetfighter, so I kept the R1 then.
So if anyone wants an 07 Blue Tiger1050................
