Is there a difference between these apart from the price?

Are Motorbatt any good anyway or should I go for another brand?

down to the Lot region, France
Posted by: phil on a fazer - 14-02-13, 02:34 PM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

Hi

I'm going on a trail riding trip to the Lot region in France at the end of April. We are catching the Portsmouth Caen ferry. Rough plan is…

Get off Boat at Caen, motorway (yawn) down to Le Mans, towards Angers, then stop the night around Saumur.

Next day – go from Saumur, through Poitiers and then onto Oradour-sur-Glane for a look around. Then head down to the Nontron / Brantome area to spend the night.

Next day – head off towards Sarlat and to our destination which isn’t far east of Sarlat.

I have been to this region once or twice before (in the car) so I know what a lot of the places are like.

What I'm really looking for though is info on campsites…are they open at the end of April?general prace? (or any wild camp spots?)

Any cheap biker friendly B&Bs?

Might stay in the travel lodge at Portsmouth the night before we sail, any one know is its poss to get your bike near the door (I'll only have a disc lock)

Any info really  Big Grin

Cheers guys

  Rough Idle

Since dropping the bike last week, I have had a rough idle.

It didnt start immediately, but its gotten worse.

Heres a vid of the idle, I have the baffle out of my can to make it easier to hear. Does this sound normal?

  £60 !!!
Posted by: ZiggyCol - 14-02-13, 10:52 AM - Forum: General - Replies (31)

Yup - got stopped on the way to work this morning (very swish looking unmarked BMW 5 series touring) and fixed penalty received for "Vehicle registration mark not conforming to regulations".

Plate is smaller than regulation but it's a proper font and layout and perfectly legible. As we were stood at the roadside in rush hour traffic I wonder how many 'personal' plates with irregular spacing went by ?

It's first time I've ever been pulled up and been riding with a smaller plate for about 10 years - never been questioned at MOT in that time.

Have I been lucky or unlucky?

Any other experiences? Apart from tossing £60 I've now got to decide whether to continue risking it or putting a regulation plate on.

  Valve Shimming
Posted by: old son - 14-02-13, 09:46 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (14)

What is the most likely damage to occur if you dont have your valves checked and adjusted at the recommended intervals?
Are there any signs of this damage before it happens?
I get the impression that not many valves require shimming and the vast expense of having it done is a waste of time?

Dog bones up or down kits £45-55
Posted by: bigfootpete - 13-02-13, 10:44 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

While trying to find some Dog bones for someone else I came across this site -
http://www.lustracing.co.uk/suspension/y...-kits.html
http://www.lustracing.co.uk/suspension/y...-kits.html

£45 for the FZS but £55 for the FZ1, they only seem to have 25mm and 45mm jack up height
and 30mm or 45mm for the lowering kits.

Good price, nice looking kit...
