I´ve just received a tail panel through the post to replace the one the last owner cracked.
it´s a 99model.
i thought it´d be simple to disengage but it seems to be stuck with glue or something.
i´ve removed all the screws that i can see (one right at the back and one in the two more towards the front. i´ve also removed a line of rubber that connects the two bits of plastic nas so with all that removed i thought i should just be able to wiggle it free. but no.
anyone ever doen this? i got nervous and didn´t want to force things.
ta for any advice

Fellow Fazer heads,
Been looking at your forum for a few years now and taking it's advice on mods and repairs, I'm on my third Fazer now and have progressed from a FZS 600, FZ6 S2 and a disastrous bandit saga before finally ending up with the bike i should have bought in the first place, the gen 1 1000.( not that there's anything wrong with the 6's I'm 20 stone and and need the grunt).
Dave.

So 8 hours later I now have an exhaust that is blowing at the can joint and the collector box joint.
The whole fucking lot is going in the river in a minute.
After fitting it in about an hour perfectly with no blowing I decided to take out the baffle to see what difference it made and promptly dropped the baffle screw down the exhaust.
So I take the whole lot off again to get the screw and fit it again only this time it doesn't want to line up properly, so after an hour of sweating and twisting I get it on, tighten up the clamps and start up - blowing at both clamps
So I tighten up both clamps and over tighten the bottom one and break it.
I then spend 3 hours driving around in heavy traffic to useless bike shops trying to replace the exhaust bracket - everybody is obviously trying to get to where I want to be.
I tried 4 supposedly reputable bike shops, it would have been 5 but one was shut for the day (WTF?), 1 Halfords and 2 car spares shops all the time fighting my way through traffic jams and road works.
Eventually get one but as it's an OEM one it costs £21.85 - no, that's not a typo, I do mean £21.85 for a fucking exhaust clamp.
Get back home after a 3 hour journey and refit it, twice, because it doesn't want to go on now.
Started up the bike and I can feel it blowing at both ends.
ENOUGH. I GIVE UP.

Looking for one of the above, I have 3000 to spend, prefer black engine, lowish mileage, good condition, something like an 04 plate.
Think I'd try an FZ1 if cheap enough! Or should I avoid them?

Do you wear work trousers (in my case suit trousers, not jeans) under your textile trousers?
If so, did you buy a size up to allow for them or were your normal size big enough?
And does anybody know if Spada kit is any good?
Cheers,
Andy
