  Behind bars!
Posted by: FZDick - 20-07-20, 11:47 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Appreciate this is a very personal issue, affected by size, build, posture, kit etc. etc. etc.
With the bike came a set of LSL Sonder-Lenker handlebars.
Never heard of them, seem well made, just wondering if they may be known of, and if so are they a recognised retro-fit improvement?
Look slightly higher and wider from standard, no locating holes for retaining lugs on switchgear, would like to try them if the concensus is they are a good mod?
Really dont fancy removing lugs on switchgear in case I regress to originals, drilling holes in new bars again is an option, but again need any info as to is it a valid mod or not.
Thoughts and info please?

A question for the FOC-U Moderators
Posted by: Grahamm - 20-07-20, 11:33 PM - Forum: General - Replies (18)

Two threads have vanished.

Not moved, but apparently permanently deleted since my account no longer even lists any posts from those threads.

There was no requests to tone things down, there were no warnings, there was no locking of the threads to give people a "Time Out".

The threads have just been deleted.

I (and, I'm sure, others) would be interested to know who did this and whether the decision made unilaterally.

  "Uncuttable" bike locks...?
Posted by: Grahamm - 20-07-20, 05:07 PM - Forum: General - Replies (13)

From today's New Scientist magazine:

Quote:A new artificial material effectively cannot be cut, holding out the promise of lightweight but cut-proof bike locks, security doors and protective clothing.

Its inventors embedded ceramic spheres in aluminium foam to create a material that couldn’t be cut with angle grinders, power drills or water jet cutters. They dubbed it Proteus after the shape-shifting Greek god, for the way the material metamorphosised in different ways to defend against attacks.
https://www.newscientist.com/article/224...bike-lock/

Ok, it's not going to stop someone picking the bike up if it's not chained to something secure, but it should stop the "two scrotes with a moped and an angle grinder" sort of thefts...

A bit to much from Marquez
Posted by: coffee - 20-07-20, 12:12 AM - Forum: Diesels and Lawnmowers (Bike racing n things) - Replies (3)

What a shame Marquez hit the dirt after working his way through the field after running off track earlier on, I actually thought he was going to get a rostrum but he'd destroyed his tyres and wasn't to be,hope he makes a quick recovery. It was also a choker seeing John Mcfee tumble out after a brilliant Moto3 race I was really willing him on and standing up in the living room shouting at the telly. :lol

I was just reading about doing away with the 02 sensor, the blurb says it makes for a smoother pick up etc,has anyone done this and if so is it worth doing?it's only a blanking plug and what looks like a electric connector.

Thanks for the add. I've just bought my 1st Fazer & second ever Yamaha. I've been a Suzuki SV650 fan for quite a long time, I've owned 4 of them now, but thought I'd try something new.I live in Crewe, Cheshire.
I bought my 2002 39000 miler on Wednesday 15th July, but work got in the way, so didn't ride her properly until Friday & I'm quite pleased I've bought her.I'll be adding my own little touches as time goes on, but I love the colour, so won't be changing that. The guy that sold it to me told me that it was the original colour (I knew it wasn't but agreed anyway), but the spray job looks as though it's been done by somebody that knew what they were doing. The engine, on the other hand has been sprayed black while still in the frame, so jubilee clips, bolts, footpegs etc. are all black. These will be sorted over time.Anyway, here's a couple of pictures of the "Angry Hornet".[smg id=3440 type=preview align=center caption="Angry Hornet1"]I've removed the rear graphics & cleaned the footpeg hangers up now Smile
