Just seen this...

Quote:A motorcyclist died after apparently skidding on ice and ending up beneath an oncoming bus. It happened on the B6313 Craghead Lane in Stanley, County Durham at about 09:00 GMT on Saturday.

  Motorbike Leathers
Posted by: zippywight - 29-12-13, 09:40 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Hey Foccers, Once again being a noob I seek years of wisdom. Firstly 2 piece or 1 piece Leathers? Are they required to fit tigh/snug or just fitting and allow for the leather to stretch slightly? Also I have seen these on fleabay..... £160 + £15 P+P. There made by REKO Racing...... They look nice and the Armour is replaceable. Any comments and guidance will be great. P.s Mother bought my motorbike boots as per my other post and I got the Daytona Alkons.

  Skiing holidays...
Posted by: Grahamm - 29-12-13, 09:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Paging the Foc-U font of all knowledge Smile

Having recently got hooked on skiing again but getting a bit fed up with a dry-ski slope which is only about 300 feet long, I'm thinking about getting a last minute deal in the not too distant future.

Now I could start doing lots and lots of research, but I think it would make sense to ask if anyone on here had any useful (and helpful!) advice to save me wasting time figuring it all out.

So what I'm looking for is a journey from Gatwick (easiest and cheapest to get to), to a European location suitable for a relative beginner.

Things I know I'll need to consider:

Flights (anyone but Ryan Air...!)
Baggage and carry-on limits
Ski and boot hire
Lift Pass
Insurance
Language (it's a long time since I learned French or German, but I'd prefer to avoid just speaking loudly in English!)
Availability of English food (regrettably I have very limited tastes in what I can eat)
Other things to do whilst I'm not skiing!

So what do I need to know and what have I forgotten about? All useful tips welcomed.

BTW I do actually have ski jacket, trousers and gloves, I bought them some years back when I was thinking of this previously, but then life got in the way Sad

Help - rear wheel bearing replacement and sizes to buy?
Posted by: Fizzy Pies - 29-12-13, 07:33 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

What are the sizes of the two rear wheel bearings, the sprocket carrier bearing and what's the best method for getting the first bearing out of the rear wheel?

Surely you guys have done this before.

  Dragon Rally & winter camping
Posted by: ajmes1 - 29-12-13, 07:05 PM - Forum: General - Replies (13)

Hey all,

Hope you've had some well earned beverages over the festive period.

Looking forward to the new year, i'm going to be tackling the dragon rally in february with the Mrs.

For those that don't know, it means camping up a mountain, in february!!

What advice does the masses have on equipment? Mainly sleeping bags as we are due an upgrade on ours! We don't have a lot to spend, £30-40/bag. What have other people used? I know the rally is only 1 night but a good decision on bags now means we can go camping for longer periods in the summer (which is the plan).

Got the tent sorted, and seen some lightweight camp beds which are essentially heavy duty lilos.

we did john o'groats to lands end in August, so she knows the rules when it comes to packing light!

Any advice would be great =]

  Digital display on FZ6 S2
Posted by: lew600fazer - 29-12-13, 01:09 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Not sure if it is my imagination but it looks to me as if there is a slight brown/black stain appearing under the clear glass/plastic screen on my display unit on the speedio readout. Looks as if it could be starting to cook itself. There is no burning smell and it is not that big. I am curious if any one else has had this. I will try and get a photo to post and see if it is clear what I mean. I bet that unit does not come cheap but thankfully if it goes and fries itself Mr Yamaha will pickup the tab as the bike is still under warranty as it was first registered in June this year.
