Any member tested aftermarket brake&clutch levers?

Hi everybody
Back in Spain from a trip through southern France. My Gen1 behaved perfectly and Im even more happy with it (if that´s possible). The trip went smooth and incidentless but for my girl dropping the bike while parked (the bike was a little over leaned, and with all the luggage it didnt need much movement to fall). No damages thank to bumpers and saddle bags but a clutch lever broken tip.
So, considering that she is feeling guilty    I might be able to make her pay for an upgrade: any suggestions? To be honest, I was already thinking about changing them cos my hands are smalish and cant really ride with "two fingers" on the brake as I am used to

I've fitted OEM parts to my fazer (look the same as Yamaha but for a fraction of the price) and had no problems.


Yet to go down the routes of different levers though.

Yes, they are a bit pricy but IMO worth the money.

Where in Spain?  Have I asked this before?  If so, apologies - senior moment.

I've got Pazzo shorty levers on my Gen 1 and I'm also small-handed (and tight-fisted, got that in before someone else does ).  I'm very used to the Pazzos now but I have full size Chinese CRG knock-offs on the R1 and I like the extra leverage those provide, while still being easy to use wiv diddy mits.

The Chinese knock-offs tend to be slightly chunkier than the high end stuff life Pazzo, CRG etc but are very good value for money.

Thank you for answering. It is obvious that both products cant be the same one being almost 8 times more expensive. The problem here is that I was thinking on spending quite more than what the knock off cost but not so much as a pair of Pazzo´s does. Do the chinese look&feel "cheap"? Poor finish and so on?

I've had the crg shorties on for over a year now with no probs at all. seem to be well built, no bits fell off yet!! I've got them set on the most adjustment and 2 fingers is ok.

Not cheap-looking but not as obviously expensive to look at as the real thing, if you get my drift?  I went for plain alloy ones for the R1, closest match to the original levers in colour possible.  So far, so good. 

I have read reports from riders in the USA who've gone for Chinese ones that are colour anodized and found that they fade a little in the sun.  But then again, coloured levers and other accessories are a bit tart's handbag. 

Fit and function is fine.  Again, not quite as precisely engineered as the Pazzos et al but plenty good enough for the price.  I think I paid about £35 for the pair, delivered to Spain.  At that price, what's there to lose in trying?

Another vote for ASV levers from me, excellent adjustment range if you've got small hands. I got mine from http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/ from stock, after waiting weeks for M&P to tell me they couldn't get them!

I've got the shorter version of this and I love them, I did think when i bought them that Oulw miss being able to get my little finger on the lever.

I have traktech levers on mine from buster's, they are full length and you can choose colours for the anodised adjusters, had them several years and were about £35 each. They are good quality and look and feel great.

I have fitted top end levers and the cheaper chinese copies, but you asked for a lever that cost in between the two, well i have trak tech levers fitted to my gen 1. They are excellent. you can get short or long levers. £70 a pair.

hi what would be up with changing a fzs 600 clutch clamp from a 1000 to a 600 so that i can get these after market to fit would it work ?
