Exup servo pulley - lubricate?

Finally got rid of a persistent EXUP error reading after several adjustments of the cables... but noticed the servo pulley looks heavily rusted. Would spraying it with WD40 damage cable traction on the pulley?

doing mine at moment but if you search here and Pats site plenty of info..cant do any damage soaking with wd40

WD40 was not designed as a lubricant so there are better alternatives for this purpose such as 3 in 1 with PTFE to name just one.

GT-85 is also a good aerosol PTFE spray.
Cheap enough & readily available.

Thx - I'll use a better lubricant, but I was more worried whether lubricating the pulley and the cable around it will make the pulley slip against the cable?... or doesn't it work this way?

The cables are fixed at both ends so can't slip like drive belt on a car. One cable pulls the valve open the other pulls it closed

I put copper grease over the lot due to the heat burning off oils and as stated the wires clip into the pulley and work from fixed points on the pulley,
