I use the renthal plugs as they are clean and don't add width.  Think they are £3

No Renthal bars need special smaller diam bar ends. Mine Rentahl 758 was pretty non standard. Some say 13mm will fit. On mine 758 13mm was loose.

So I bought these: http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/263556?r=GS&gclid=Cj0KEQjwvZq6BRC9kfq2zKfQ_94BEiQAOeUVC78-VOZJd2XBagvFYFQYtzBuQbTWb8Md1YqAG1A65v0aAphY8P8HAQ

And tweaked them with some plastic sleeves to fit. Actual diam was about 14.5 mm.

Take the Renthals to a machine shop and get them tapped out to take the OEM bar ends, cost you about the same as a cheap pair of bar ends but the OEM ones help noticeably with vibrations.

Got some R&G ones on mine, do the job and look alright. Like mini crash bobbins on bars. Do stick out a bit more than others shown here mind.

Sweet! All you need is some R6 mirrors to complete the look  :)

I have heated grips on my bike, presumably they'd need to be wrecked if i swapped bars?

If your careful with a small flat head screwdriver you can release the  old glue and wiggle them off

Or if you have access to a air compressor you can blast air underneath and slide them off

if you can get some wd40 or similar in there (use the wee red straw that always gets lost!) they should come off with a bit of wiggling,

The supplied glue was rather useless so i used a heavier duty one, not sure if i'd be able to get them off in good condition, which is a bit of a conundrum as i obviously need them back on immediately.

Would you sell the Fazer 1000 ones or do a deal on them I have a set of short R1 mirrors in the garage.

Not OEM but in good nick, took them off a Fazer 400 a few years ago. Just noticed the mirror is a loose fit, but a dab of clear silicon would solver that everything thing else is fine.

Switch them onto highest setting to get glue warmed up, try moving the grips, although you used stronger glue they should still move slightly then you can use feeler gauges which won't damage the grips, other thing that is of use is a metal coathanger.

I'm afraid they have found a new home already unfazed,  but I may be interested in your mirrors when payday comes around again
