My new man cave

Finally finished Kosmic's Man Kave.

I've had my bikes parked out since I moved in July and now they have a new home.

My Proposed Drawing of what I wanted.


Ground works, timber frame and pan tiles completed.


Doors added and lighting installed.


8 foot workshop bench built.


Some tools added.


Alarm and Music system added


Bikes added

The base, brickwork, frame and roof were done by these people. http://www.gardenbuildings.co/ I could have gone for black glazed tiles but they would have added another two grand to the bill and wouldn't have been ready until late feb as they would have had to have been ordered in especially.

In reality I could have gone for a cheaper build sorting out my own groundworks, frame and roof but the thought of working with several contractors all blaming each other if something went wrong was not something I wanted to deal with, so this is done all in house. The only thing I didn't get them to do was supply doors. They wanted £1,500 for them.

The frame weighs a few tonnes and I wouldn't have been able to put that up on my own. It's a lovely bit of oak wood and the building will out live me. It also had to blend in with what was there in terms of structure and space and I reckon I got that about right... except for the red pantiles 

You could easily get six bikes in there and I'm looking forward to getting my KTM back that a mate's been looking after.

Fridge? Got one... and a kettle. They're both in the house.

Ads, that looks amazing. If you were really worried about the tiles you could age them buy spreading cow dung and yoghurt on them, i kid you not. Apparently it works. But please don't beat the crap out of me next time we meet up.

I am in the process of sorting my mancave out at the moment. The whole building was subsiding due to ground shrinkage (yawn). So, me and a mate fitted a storm drain, some underground pipe work and a soakaway. I can now repair the floor cracks, fill the gaps in the wall and I am going to clear everything out and paint the lot. Should be finished by the 13th.

So far it doesn't seem that bad Re: the temp. I may clad it inside if it becomes a problem.

The glitter ball was given to me by a freind, Charlotte Tagg who sadly lost her life at Brighton Speed Trials a few years back. She was standing in for me on that day so the ball hangs in her memory.
