Bouncing Fuel Guage
« on: 04 August 2014, 05:48:53 pm »
Hi,

So as the subject suggests, ever so often, usually after about 2 hours of motorway riding, my fuel guage decides to just bounce up and down as it wishes for a while. I figured maybe it was to do with the temperature of the bike affecting a connection somewhere as it only really happens after its been in use solidly for a couple of hours.

After I've stopped it seems to go back to normal with no issues. I just wondered if anyone else had encountered this before at all or if anyone had any ideas? I'm not massively concerned, I know what I get to a tank so I can judge it, but I'd still like to fix it if possible

Cheers

Only sure way is to test the sender in situ and also off tank....
Can you remove/able to remove the sender and we can run some electrical diagnostics?

I had the same issue. Checked the wires and cleared connection that is on the frame under the tank (lift the tank and you will see it), a bit of corrosion there and loose connection itself. Works ok from then! Hope that helps!

or i put £25 fuel in and well it does the same just a bit slower.
